About:
Thrive Ukraine, a 501(c)3, was founded in 2021 by Derrick & Victoria Nissley to address the need for empowering and equipping orphans, at-risk youth, and the communities in which they live. The primary goal was to provide job and life-skills training to orphans and at-risk youth.
Thrive Ukraine is dedicated to working with the marginalized in Ukrainian society. We do this primarily by:
Providing a hand up, not a handout, within the communities we work. We are committed to not “dumping” money into communities and leaving.
Thrive Ukraine is dedicated to a holistic approach to community development:
We find leaders in villages that want to see their communities thrive.
We guide the leader and others in the village that want to see their communities thrive through a series of structured lessons that allow them to address what they think are the significant issues in the village. Then guide them to come up with their own solutions for these problems. This gives them a sense of ownership, self-worth, and value.
Network with other like-minded organizations and government initiatives. We believe in the power of shared resources and minds.
In addition, Derrick and his wife, Victoria, and business partner, Vanya, founded Red Canyon Coffee (www.redcanyoncoffee.com) in 2021 to address the need to provide job skills to orphans and at-risk youth.
Provide job and life skills training through Red Canyon Coffee, Thrive Ukraine youth clubs, and community development.
